Bulgarian Customs Seize Counterfeit Speakers, Apparel, Perfumes

The Bulgarian customs officials have recently seized a considerable quantity of goods bearing well-known brand names, believed to be counterfeit.

The seized goods include:

• 3,894 loudspeakers and speakers bearing the Boss mark, copying the leading audio equipment producer Bose mark, worth approximately USD 15,000 (EUR 11,500);

• 4,080 clothing items and accessories (sports clothes, blouses, belts and socks) bearing the marks of Gucci, Adidas, Puma, Tommy Hilfiger and Abercrombie & Fitch;

• 454 perfumes and eaux de toilette bearing the Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, and Paco Rabanne marks;

• 1,602 counterfeit perfumes and eaux de toilette; and

• 222 sweaters, jeans and shirts.

The seizures were made at the Kapitan Andreevo and Lesovo border crossing points, southeastern Bulgaria, and in Varna, eastern Bulgaria.

The goods originated in China and Turkey and were intended for the Bulgarian, Slovak and Romanian markets.
