Romanian Customs Seize Counterfeit Cosmetics, Toys, Apparel, Cookware

In the period January 11 – February 9, 2012, the Romanian customs officials at the port of Constanta, on the western coast of the Black Sea, and in the city of Calafat, southern Romania, seized goods believed to be counterfeit worth over EUR 2.6 million (USD 3.4 million).

The officials seized car charges bearing the mark Energizer, sneakers bearing the mark Adidas, cigarettes bearing the mark Capital, cosmetics bearing Chanel, L’Oreal, Dior and Armani marks, apparel bearing Hermes, Dolce & Gabbana, Puma, Polo and F1 labels, cookware labeled Grunberg and Solingen, games labeled Monopoly and Disney, toy cars bearing the F1 mark, among other goods.

The counterfeits originated in China, Holland and Bulgaria and were intended for the Romanian and Moldovan markets.
