Bulgarian Customs Seize Fake Apparel, Footwear, Perfumes

Bulgarian customs officials have recently seized a considerable amount of fake apparel, footwear and perfumes bearing the logos of well-known brands, believed to be counterfeit.

The customs officials in Plovdiv, southern Bulgaria, seized almost 48,000 textile products, mostly shirts, sportswear items and bags, believed to infringe the IP rights of FC Barcelona, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors, Chanel, Puma and Adidas, among others. The fake items were seized during an inspection of a truck travelling from Turkey to Bulgaria.

The officials at the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing point, southern Bulgaria, seized 1,199 pairs of sneakers bearing the logos of Nike and Adidas, 3,366 perfumes bearing the logos of Paco Rabanne, Nina Ricci, Armani, Lacoste and Dolce & Gabbana and 460 shirts bearing the logos of various well-known brands. The fake goods were seized within a five-day period during inspections of buses and cars.
