Hungarian Authorities Seize Fake Chocolate, Watches

Hungarian National Tax and Customs Administration (NTCA) officials have recently discovered and seized more than 14,000 counterfeit chocolate bars bearing the “Chocolips” trademark belonging to Hungarian chocolate manufacturer Chocolips Hungary Kft. The total value of counterfeit goods is estimated at EUR 85,000 (USD 93,000). While conducting raids at several premises in Budapest, NTCA officials also discovered more than 250,000 chocolate molds and wrappers.

On a separate occasion, NTCA officials also discovered and seized 663 “Diesel” watches, believed to be counterfeit, in a car with Czech license plates driven by a Vietnamese citizen, who claimed that he had bought the watches at a marketplace in Budapest as gifts for his friends.
