Russian Police Bust Fake Chanel Shoe Sweatshop

Jun 27 2013 - 11:35

The Russian police authorities have recently discovered an illegal sweatshop near Yekaterinburg, central Russia, where more than 100 Chinese citizens made counterfeit Chanel shoes.

The authorities seized over 3,600 pairs of shoes, contacted Chanel representatives and submitted shoe samples for analysis.

The Armenian crime group, which reportedly operated the sweatshop, showed complete disregard for health and safety standards – there were foul-smelling chemicals on site and the chemical waste was dumped into a nearby river. The workers lived in barracks on the premises and were under continual surveillance.
