Montenegrin Customs Seize EUR 650,000 Worth of Counterfeits
On April 17, 2015, the Montenegrin customs officials seized considerable quantities of goods believed to be counterfeit, the total value of which is estimated at EUR 650,000 (USD 729,000).
The officials seized a total of 12,410 items (clothes, footwear and accessories) bearing the marks of Armani, D&G, Boss, Hermes, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, Calvin Klein, Guess, Cavalli, Converse, Zenga, among others.
The counterfeits were discovered at the Port of Bar, Montenegro’s main seaport, after an inspection of a vehicle with Croatian license plates. The goods originated in China and were probably intended for the Serbian market.
