Kazakhstan Updates Official IP Fees
Effective 1 January 2026, Kazakhstan’s National Institute of Intellectual Property (Qazpatent) implemented moderate fee increases across IP services and added new official fees for certain trade mark-related procedures.
Under the revised fee structure, trade mark applications listing more than 10 items within a single Nice Classification class now incur supplementary charges of 3 EUR per additional item for standard examination and 11 EUR per additional item for expedited examination. Previously, fees were assessed solely per class, regardless of the number of goods or services designated.
Applicants are encouraged to streamline the description of goods and services, allocate items strategically across classes, and minimise duplication or overly broad listings within a single class.
