Serbian Customs Seize Fake Labels, Apparel
On July 31, 2017, Serbian customs officials at the Nikola Tesla airport in the capital of Belgrade seized 32,250 rubber and textile sneaker labels bearing fake Converse All Star® and Reebok® trademarks.
The labels, which were discovered in the luggage of a man arriving from Shanghai, China, are estimated to be worth approximately EUR 3,400 (USD 4,000).
On August 4, 2017, while inspecting a courier service vehicle on the E-761 highway in south-central Serbia, customs officials seized a significant amount of apparel, including sweatpants, leggings, jeans and T-shirts, believed to infringe the Nike®, Adidas®, Diesel® and Levi’s® trademarks. The vehicle was transporting parcels from Novi Pazar in southern Serbia to Šabac in western Serbia.
