Fake Apparel, Sneakers, Accessories Destroyed in Serbia

On July 14 and July 16, PETOŠEVIĆ Serbia representatives and local customs authorities organized and witnessed the destruction of various goods found to infringe the intellectual property rights of the world’s leading supplier of athletic shoes and apparel and a major manufacturer of sports equipment.

The goods, which were destroyed in the city of Krusevac, southern Serbia, included:

1,416 pairs of sneakers

22,897 pairs of socks

582 sweat suits

4,255 sweatshirts

438 sweatpants

870 T-shirts and shirts

295 shorts

321 hats

7,218 bracelets

312 necklaces

260 tights

15 jackets

26 bags

10 belts

over 1000 labels

The destroyed goods also included 203 pairs of sneakers, 130 sweat suits and 200 sweatpants bearing the mark of Converse and 1,183 cell phone covers bearing the mark of Nokia.

The counterfeits were seized in the time period 2005-2007 and were intended for importers from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia and Poland.

The goods were stored in the customs warehouse in the town of Dimitrovgrad, southeastern Serbia.
