Macedonian Police Seize 18,000 Pairs of Counterfeit Footwear

On November 16, the Macedonian police authorities discovered and seized a large quantity of counterfeit sneakers and shoes — 17,750 pairs, in a warehouse located near a border crossing point between Macedonia and Kosovo.

The fake footwear bore well-known brand names including Nike, Adidas, Armani, Converse, Cat, Timberland and Puma.

The investigation is underway; it is not yet known how the goods entered the country and for which market they were intended.
