Bulgaria Customs Seize Fake Perfumes, Belts, Sweaters

The Bulgarian customs officials at the Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint, southeastern Bulgaria, have recently seized perfumes, belts and sweaters believed to be counterfeit.

The seized items include:

• 1,637 bottles of perfume bearing Paco Rabanne, Chanel, Armani, Versace and D&G marks, with an estimated market value of EUR 80,000 (USD 106,000) and in transit through Bulgaria en route from Turkey to Romania;
• 316 leather belts bearing Armani, G-Star and D&G marks, in transit through Bulgaria en route to Ukraine; and
• 120 sweaters bearing Polo and Lacoste marks and 32 pairs of men’s trousers bearing D&G and Armani marks, discovered in a vehicle with Bulgarian license plates travelling inbound.
