Macedonian Customs Seize Spare Motorcycle Parts, Apparel, Sneakers, Perfumes

During regular controls at Macedoniaís border crossings in the period February 25 ñ March 17, the customs officials seized a considerable quantity of goods bearing well-known brand names, believed to be counterfeit.

In the week of February 25 ñ March 3, the Macedonian customs officials seized 605 bottles of perfumes and eau de toilette bearing the marks of Lady Million, Burberry, Carolina Herrera, Million, Kenzo and Armani Acqua di Gio, and 426 blouses, T-shirts, tracksuit pants and menís underwear bearing the marks of Lacoste, Adidas, Nike, Reebok and D&G.

During the period March 4-10, the officials seized 360 pairs of sneakers bearing the mark of Puma and 2,180 pairs of sneakers bearing the mark of Adidas.

In the week of March 11-17, the customs officials seized 9,500 spare motorcycle parts bearing the mark of Tomos, 186 clothing items bearing the mark of Calvin Klein, and 48 pairs of sneakers bearing the mark of Adidas.

The goods, which were found in trucks and cars with Turkish and Bulgarian license plates, originated in China, Bulgaria and Turkey, and were intended for the Macedonian and Kosovo markets.
