Croatian Customs Office Rijeka Actively Seizing Counterfeits

The Croatian customs authorities at the port of Rijeka, southwestern Croatia, have recently announced the figures showing their active involvement in seizing the goods suspected of being counterfeit.

In the period 2008-2011, the office initiated a total of 340 procedures against infringers, involving a total of 4,848,596 counterfeit items. During this period, the office organized the destruction of 4,588,578 counterfeit items, worth EUR 46,238,000 (USD 63,238,063).

In the first half of 2011, 50 procedures were initiated involving 188,934 counterfeit items. During the same period, the office organized the destruction of 161,478 counterfeits worth EUR 24,780,600 (USD 33,891,542).
