Azerbaijan Opens Data Center Aimed at Facilitating Trade

The Azerbaijani State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents opened a data center in Baku, the capital, on September 8, 2010 where producers, exporters and importers can apply for information on trade-related standards, technical rules and regulations in Azerbaijan and the World Trade Organization (WTO) member countries.

As the committee representatives explained, the establishing of this data center is in accordance with the Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade, signed by Azerbaijan and the WTO, which aims to harmonize the Azerbaijani regulations on accreditation, standardization and metrology with international standards.
