Russia Amends Anti-Piracy Law

Feb 27 2014 - 14:28

On February 25, the Russian parliament’s lower house approved the amendments to the anti-piracy law, in force since August 2013. The amendments, if approved by the upper house and the president, are expected to enter into force on July 1, 2014.

The amendments aim to introduce the same protection for all kinds of copyrighted content that can be found on the Internet, as the current version of the law applies to video content only, i.e. movies and television series.
