Ukrainian Court Rules in Favor of Austrian Drug Maker in Patent Infringement Case

On November 11, the Kiev Commercial Court ruled in favor of the Austrian pharmaceutical company Megainpharm, banning the Ukrainian competitor Darnytsia from selling the medication Oftamirine, produced by using the technology patented by Megainpharm.

The first-instance court has also ordered the Ukrainian Ministry of Health to cancel the registration of the drug Oftamirine, used for treating eye infections.

At press time, we did not have information on whether an appeal had been filed against the decision.
