Monica’s practice focuses on clearance and prosecution of patents before the Romanian Intellectual Property Office and WIPO. Her responsibilities include preparing, filing and prosecuting national and international patent and utility model applications, including PCT national phase applications, as well as validating European patents in Romania. Monica also handles patent searches, validity and freedom to operate opinions, supplementary protection certificates and recordals, as well as maintenance of IP rights. Monica has over 15 years of experience in the patent field, with a focus on chemical and pharmaceutical patents.
Prior to joining PETOŠEVIĆ in 2021, Monica worked as an IP attorney at a Romanian IP firm where she primarily handled trademark matters. Before that, she worked for nine years as a senior patent attorney in a leading Romanian law firm, where she was involved in all aspects of patent work.
