New Law on Topographies of Semiconductor Products Enters into Force in Serbia

On July 3, 2013, the Law on the Protection of Topographies of Semiconductor Products entered into force in Serbia. This area was previously regulated by the Law on the Protection of Topographies of Integrated Circuits.

The adoption of the new law is derived from the need to improve the legal framework in this area, as well as the need to comply with international rules and European Union regulations.

The law ensures the protection of semiconductor products instead of topographies of integrated circuits, thus allowing a more extensive protection, as it applies to all circuits, including those made from discrete components.
