Polish Customs Seize 1.5 Million Counterfeit Condoms
The customs officials at the port city of Gdynia in northern Poland have recently seized about 1.5 million counterfeit condoms, after stopping a suspicious shipment arriving from China.
The fake condoms, the total value of which is estimated at approximately EUR 50,000 (USD 65,245), bore the mark of a Czech contraceptives producer and were intended for a firm in the Masovia region, east-central Poland. After negotiations with the Czech producer’s legal representatives, the goods were transferred to a warehouse in Gdynia.
This is the second seizure of counterfeit condoms arriving from China this year – a smaller shipment was seized at the same port in February.
